About Grants
A grant is gift aid based on need, usually offered with work-study authorization or a loan that meets the student's needs. To apply for a federal Pell Grant, Supplemental Grant (SEOG) or Washington State Need Grant (for Washington residents only) you must submit the FAFSA. Indicate whether you prefer a work-study job or are interested in a subsidized student loan. If you qualify, your financial aid award will include work-study or subsidized loan authorization.
To receive need-based aid, you need to supply proof of income, such as a federal tax return.
