Lower Columbia College announces the launch of it's beta (interim) version of the new website. It's built on a new Content Management System (CMS) provided by OU Campus, a leading web content management system for higher education.
You will notice many changes, including improved category navigation (red bar) and a new calendar. We hope the new structure will make it easier for students to find the important information they need to complete their college education.
Although much work remains to be done, all of the content required for students and the public to find information about LCC programs and classes, services and activities is available. Students can access all of our online services: apply for admission, register and pay for classes, get their username, password and Student ID number, use Career Center services, etc.
Over the next six months, we will continue to improve the interim site with new content, photos and images and other features available through the new CMS. We also plan to hold student focus groups and campus-wide forums during Winter quarter 2014 to assess the navigation and current content.
The results of this feedback along with industry best practices will help us do a final redesign, and improve the navigation and new content that best meets the needs of our campus and community.
How can you help?
Because we are still in the beta (interim) phase of our new website, we appreciate your feedback regarding content, links, navigation or other issues you may find. Feel free to contact us if something isn't working, or if you have helpful suggestions.
