Lower Columbia College students, and local high school seniors and their parents, have until April 5 to apply for over $250,000 in scholarships offered through the LCC Foundation. Scholarship awards apply to the 2014-2015 year.

To apply for multiple LCC scholarships, students need to complete just one online application available at lowercolumbia.edu/scholarships. Interested students are also encouraged to attend a workshop for help in completing the application. The last workshop is scheduled on Friday, March 28, at 3 pm in the Career Center located in the Admissions Center.

LCC scholarships are based on many different criteria, such as:

  • Program of Study: Nursing, Art, Automotive, Chemistry, Education, and more
  • Merit: Meet certain GPA requirements (typically ranging from 2.0 to 3.5), or demonstrate community service or leadership
  • Need: Demonstrate financial need based on your most recent tax return and federal poverty guidelines
  • General: A wide range of students will qualify for general scholarships with broad, flexible criteria

Scholarship funds can be used to pay for tuition, student fees, books, and supplies at Lower Columbia College. Some scholarships can also be used to pay for other expenses related to going to school, like transportation or child care.

Students can also check the Scholarships page for a limited number of awards provided by outside programs throughout the year.
