Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

Jim RofflerJim Roffler, Head Coach

Jim Roffler begins his 20th season at the helm of the LCC men's program. He has compiled a record of 431-163 (73%) in his 19 years as head coach. Jim has earned NWAACC Coach of the Year during his back-to-back championship teams in 2004 and 2005. Jimmy's squads have appeared in the NWAACC title game five out of the past seven years.  Roffler has been named the Western Region Coach of the Year 10 times in his 17 seasons, and his teams have won nine division titles. Also, 57 players have moved on to four-year colleges and universities during his tenure. Jim and his wife Liz, a teacher in the Kelso School District, have two children J.J. (19) and Jared (15).

Roosevelt Smith Jr.Roosevelt Smith, Jr., Assistant Coach

Roosevelt Smith Jr. is in his 10th year as Coach Roffler's right-hand man. Rose assists the LCC program in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, scouting and player development. The CEO of the Southwest Washington YMCA, Coach Smith and his wife Mary have three beautiful daughters, Jacki (13), Brandy (11) and Jordyn (6).

 

 

 

Chris BannishChris Bannish, Assistant Coach

Former Red Devil great Chris Bannish joins the staff this season after four years as an assistant at Central Washington University. Bannish was the WIAA B Player of the Year at Willipa Valley. He played two seasons at LCC, leading the Devils to an NWAACC Championship his sophomore season. Bannish ranks 13th in scoring all-time at LCC. Chris then went on to a stellar career at Central Washington where he is 2nd on the CWU all-time 3-pointer percentage and 14th in career assists. He also set the GNAC record for consecutive made three's with 10. Chris and his wife Whitney live in Kalama.

 

Ed EarnestEd Earnest, Assistant Coach

Earnest begins his 11th season as an LCC assistant coach. He also doubles as the athletic trainer which makes him invaluable to the entire program. A former Red Devil player who received the prestigious Art Fiero Award which goes to the top scholar athlete in the NWAACC, Ed is on the team at Longview Physical and Sports Therapy. He and his wife Jenny are proud parents of Caitlin (21), Gray (19), Evan (17) and Eisley (13).
