KeyTrain is a comprehensive, yet easy-to-use system for improving the basic skills measured by the WorkKeys assessment system.
Although prices vary per type of assessment, KeyTrain modules cost about $10 per level. The KeyTrain system allows you to upgrade your skills to achieve the test scores that recognized WorkKeys employers want.
The KeyTrain system includes targeted, self-paced instruction, pre- and post-skill tests, a complete learning management system and a database of occupational job profiles. You can use these components to learn, practice and demonstrate the skills you need to succeed in the jobs and careers you want.
KeyTrain is the first computer-based training available which was specifically designed for WorkKeys. Although Key Train is a training product of Thinking Media, Inc, the system has been reviewed by ACT, the parent corporation sponsoring WorkKeys assessment modules. ACT has determined that KeyTrain meets its standards for WorkKeys training curriculum.
The KeyTrain training is designed to provide sound, effective, no-nonsense learning in a convenient, easy-to-use package. The lessons are straightforward and user-friendly, comfortable whether or not you have computer experience. A multi-sensory multimedia experience, KeyTrain combines text, graphics, animation and audio to engage learners in a number of different styles. The lessons include a full sound track, which is very helpful to those with reading difficulties.
Each topic includes a review of the skill, opportunities to practice the skill, and then exercises that apply the skill in real-world applications. These include both simple skill demonstrations and higher-level activities that require more complex problem-solving abilities. Context-sensitive feedback and solution keys help you better understand the concepts.
KeyTrain was designed from the beginning to help individuals who are being, or have been assessed for employment certification, by the WorkKeys employment system. Its curriculum was derived directly from ACT's Targets for Instruction. Whether or not an organization is using the WorkKeys assessment tool, KeyTrain users benefit from ACT's extensive research into the most critical skills needed for today's workforce.
The KeyTrain system is not designed to replace a traditional K-12 education. Rather, it is designed to help you renew and expand the skills that you may have learned earlier, but never used. KeyTrain also helps you learn to use and express these skills in the types of practical situations that come up in typical jobs.
