Online Learning

Online learning at Lower Columbia College offers flexibility for those with work, family and other responsibilities to complete college courses and even a degree without a regular commute to campus.

Online classes are available for most academic subject areas and some professional-technical programs.

The online learning process requires the same commitment as a traditional course. Staying up with the class and completing all work on time is vital. Once a learner gets behind, it is very difficult to catch up.

An online learner should expect to:

  • Participate in the virtual classroom 3-5 days a week
  • Respond to classmates’ ideas and questions
  • Enjoy communicating in writing
  • Use technology properly
  • Complete assignments on time

If you are pursuing a degree or certificate program taking only on-campus classes or a mix of on-campus and online classes, consult your program planner and advisor. If you are looking for just a single online course to fill your schedule, scan the Class Schedule. (Select current or upcoming quarter. Select 'O' - Online to view only online classes.)
