How to Get Started with Running Start
Take courses that satisfy both high school and college credit requirements!

Attend an Information Session with your parent or guardian. (Mandatory for new students.) (See Running Start brochure for schedule of Information Sessions. Contact the Running Start Office if you can't attend.)
Complete college placement assessment at LCC. (Contact the Running Start Office for current schedule.) LCC will let you know whether you’re eligible, based on your assessment scores. Try Sample Test Questions from COMPASS.
Once you qualify, complete Running Start and college application forms and submit to the Running Start Office. (Contact the Running Start Office for application deadlines.) LCC will let you know if you’ve been accepted into the program.
With your high school counselor, discuss Running Start participation, complete the Running Start registration form, and select LCC classes that are eligible for high school credit.
Meet with an LCC advisor, review Running Start class schedule and register for college. (Contact the Entry Center for an advising appointment.)
