Classified Employee Recognition Awards
Yearly Award
The three quarterly award winners become finalists for the Classified Employee of the Year Award.
Criteria
- Goes above and beyond what is required by the job to provide high quality service to our students and the community.
- Demonstrates an effort above and beyond that required by the job, which has made a positive contribution to a specific department or to the overall college community's morale.
- Makes a significant contribution above and beyond that of his/her job responsibilities that has enhanced or contributed to the quality of the LCC facilities or equipment.
- Demonstrates consistent performances or actions, above and beyond that required by his/her job that has significantly contributed to the overall cost effectiveness of College operations.
- Has a we care attitude and is committed to the college's core values.
Process
- Each year in May the Classified Employee of the Year Selection Committee accepts nominations for the Classified Employee of the Year.
- All LCC full-time and part-time employees are eligible to nominate a person for Classified Employee of the Year.
- Nominations are tallied and the person with the most nominations joins the three quarterly award recipients.
- The selection committee solicits letters of support for the four finalists.
- The selection committee meets and reviews the letters of support, the Employee of the Year is selected, and the winner is announced at the annual Classified Staff Breakfast.
- The Employee of the Year receives a check from the Foundation and the coveted reserved parking spot for one year.

Quarterly Awards
Quarterly awards are presented in each of the three major quarters.
Any full-time or part-time classified employees is eligible. Nominations are solicited via campus e-mail. Completed forms are collected by the Classified Employee Recognition Committee (CERC) chairperson for review and selection.
CERC selects each quarterly award winner based on the information provided by nominators, together with letters of support. The CERC advisor compiles verbiage directly related to the chosen recipient and provides it to the President's administrative assistant.
The award certificate is authorized by the President, and created and paid for by the Office of College Relations and Marketing.
Awards are presented at the All-Staff Meeting in the quarter for which the winner is receiving the award.
Criteria:
RA Award – Fall Quarter
To the individual whose positive attitude:
- creates a pleasant environment
- brings out the best qualities in co-workers and/or students
- allows them to handle difficult situations and people gracefully

Extra Mile Award – Winter Quarter
To the individual who:
- makes a difference
- does more than what is deemed necessary
- devotes more time than the job requires

True Blue Award – Spring Quarter
To the individual who:
- exhibits loyalty to the mission of the institution
- shows leadership in both work related and extracurricular college projects
- encourages participation by others in functions that involve the “Community” in our Community College

A tentative timeline for awards preparation shall be prepared after the first CERC meeting of the academic year.
