These are two-year degree programs for those students who wish to earn the first two years of a bachelor's degree.

International students transferring to four-year institutions will have their courses evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Therefore, international students wishing to transfer must maintain close contact with their LCC advisor and an advisor at their transfer institution in order to ensure efficient transfer.

There are five types of associate transfer degrees:

• Associate in Arts (AA-DTA)
• Associate in Arts and Sciences (AA)
• Associate in (Major) – DTA
• Associate in Sciences (AS-T)
• Associate in Applied Science-Transfer (AAS–T)
   The regular AAS degree is not usually transferable.
