Background Check & Certification Requirements
A criminal and fraud background check is required for all Medical Assisting program applicants. Many local healthcare employers will do this check before hiring. If you have a criminal history, please discuss this with your advisor.
Because it may limit externship and employment possibilities, a criminal background may disqualify you from the Medical Assisting Program.
Current First Aid and CPR for Healthcare Provider certification is required prior/concurrent to MEDA 161.
