Considering a career change or starting college? Out of work? Facing a layoff?
You may be eligible for Worker Retraining or Financial Assistance to train for a new career. Many training programs are available.
Eligibility involves a variety of factors. Qualifications include:
- Drawing unemployment benefits
- Facing lay-off, or unemployed and have exhausted your benefits
- Self-employed (but have become unemployed because of natural disaster or general economic conditions in your community)

The Career Center can evaluate your skills, help you choose a training program and refine your job search strategy.
You may qualify for federal or state financial aid, scholarships or Opportunity Grants. Funding varies by eligibility, but can include tuition, books, living expenses, childcare, transportation and support services.
