Lower Columbia College provides a tremendous advantage for students seeking a bachelor’s degree.
Students take the first two years of academic classes at LCC and then transfer to a university to complete the second two years of a bachelor’s degree.
At Lower Columbia College, students benefit from excellent instruction, smaller class sizes, and individual attention. Students also benefit from strengthening their English skills and expanding their social and cultural experiences prior to transferring to a large university.
Students work closely with a personal advisor to develop a plan for smooth transfer to universities in Washington, surrounding states, and across the country.
Lower Columbia College’s Intensive English as a Second Language (IESL) program is designed to give non-immigrant international students the strong English communication skills necessary for success in college. The program includes four levels of courses in speaking and listening (oral), grammar, writing, and reading. Free tutoring is available for iESL students. Classes meet approximately four hours a day, five days a week, with a special schedule during summer quarter. After successfully completing the iESL program, international students can enroll directly in Lower Columbia’s academic classes.
