The 2008 Salal Review
Will be officially launched at the Salal Spring Arts Festival on Friday, March 23, 3 - 5 pm in the LCC Student Center.

After the launch, free copies may be obtained in the LCC Admissions Center or the Salal office located in the Instructional Office Building (IOB) Rm 210 map. Contact Salal staff by or contact the advisor at 360.442.2632.

It is too late to submit written work for the 2008 edition of Salal Review. Please keep us in mind for the 2009 issue!

Written Submission Guidelines
Five poems, or two stories or essays may be submitted. Include a stamped, self-addressed reply envelope. Submission may also be made by e-mail.

All written work must be original, unpublished, and typed or computer printed. Poems may be single spaced, but stories and essays must be double spaced.

Please include a brief biographical note describing your connection to the Lower Columbia Region.

You may send your work by to the Salal Office or deliver it in person to Joe Green's Office in IOB Rm 210 or mail it to the address below:

The Salal Review showcases local art, poetry and prose. It is produced by student editors and faculty advisors at Lower Columbia College.

The mission is to further the arts in the Lower Columbia region by providing writers and artists an opportunity to share their work with patrons of the arts through a collection of the year’s best selections.

The Salal Review showcases the best work from the writers, poets, and artists of the Lower Columbia region.

The Salal Review is published each year in May. Written submissions are accepted in October. Artwork submissions are accepted in January.

Artwork Submission Guidelines
Five pieces may be submitted, either on paper or by e-mail. Color work will be considered for the cover only; all other work must be black and white. We cannot be responsible for one-of-a-kind originals, so please send clean copies. Digital images may also be sent by CD or e-mail, but must be high-resolution jpeg files.
