Practical Nurse / Registered Nurse

If you are new to college or need advising:

1. Apply for admission to Lower Columbia College
2. If you have not previously taken college courses, contact the to schedule placement testing for math, reading, and writing.
3. Schedule an advising appointment with Selah Mitchell, Nursing Education Planner, to develop your individualized education plan. See Contact Us.
4. When you have completed the required pre-requisite courses with a minimum grade point of C in each course and a minimum cumulative grade point of 2.8 in the required pre-requisite and non-nursing courses, apply for admission to the nursing program, within the dates posted on the application; See Forms / Info. Once your application is processed and the nursing admission testing fee has been paid, you may schedule the Nursing Admission Exams with Bev Ylen, Program Coordinator.
5. To be considered for admission to the nursing program, applicants must meet the minimum required score on the Nursing Admission Exams. Qualifying students will be ranked based on total admission points (Course Completion Points + TEAS score + Critical thinking Score). Students will be selected based on this ranking, with LCC students served first (15 credits or more completed at LCC). Applicants will be notified by mail of their admission status. Final admission is pending transcript review.

If you need advising:

1. Apply for admission to Lower Columbia College

When you have completed the required non-nursing courses with a minimum grade of C in each course and a minimum cumulative grade point of 2.8 in the required non-nursing courses, apply for admission to the nursing program, within the dates posted on the application; See Forms / Info. Once your application has been processed and the nursing admission testing fee has been paid, you may schedule the Nursing Admission Exams with Bev Ylen, Program Coordinator.
4. To be considered for admission to the LPN2RN options of the nursing program, applicants must meet the minimum required scores on the Nursing Admission Exams. Qualifying students will be ranked based on total admission points (TEAS score + LPN STEP score). Students will be selected based on these ranking and space available. Preference will be given to applicants who have all pre-requisite coursework completed at the time the application is received. Applicants will be notified by mail of their admission status. Final admission is pending official transcript review.

The Lower Columbia College Nursing Program offers a Rural Outreach in Nursing Education (RONE) Associate in Applied Science Transfer Degree. This option is designed for rural health care workers in Washington State. To be eligible, you must be endorsed by a partnering rural critical access hospital.
