The Lower Columbia College Nursing Program offers a Rural Outreach in Nursing Education (RONE) Associate in Applied Science Transfer Degree with limited availability.
RONE Project - Governor's Workforce & Economic Development Best Practice Award Winner
LCC collaborates with rural hospitals throughout the state to provide access to nursing education in selected rural areas. If you are a rural healthcare worker in Washington State, you may be eligible for the RONE program.
Theory courses are provided online and clinical coursework is completed at selected partnering facilities throughout the state.
To be eligible, students must:
- be endorsed by a designated partnering critical access hospital or agency
- meet admission and clinical requirements. See: Forms / Info
Upon successful completion of the first four quarters of this program, the student is eligible to apply to take the Licensed Practical Nurse examination (NCLEX-PN) to become a licensed practical nurse. Upon completion of the second level (four additional quarters), the student is eligible to apply to take the Registered Nurse examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a licensed registered nurse.
