Co-Admission Track B

You are a freshman if you have completed fewer than 40 quarter credits of transferable college coursework. Since current Running Start students are still in high school, they apply as incoming freshmen after they meet the prerequisites below.

Applicants

Freshman applicants must have completed the following high school prerequisites for admission:

  • English--4 years, including at least 3 years of composition and literature
  • Mathematics--3 years beyond pre-algebra (1 year each of algebra I, geometry, and advanced algebra)
  • Science--2 years, including 1 year of lab science: biology, chemistry, or physics
  • Foreign language--2 years of a single language other than English
  • Social science--3 years
  • One year in fine, visual, or performing arts, or an additional year of the courses listed above

Steps to Apply

Track B (you have completed fewer than 40 quarter credits of transferable college coursework, or are a Running Start Student, and meet WSU's freshman entrance requirements):

  1. Complete Co-Admission application form and submit to the LCC Admissions Office.
  2. Complete WSU freshman application for admission and submit to WSU Vancouver Office of Admissions. (The WSU freshman application for admission will be mailed to you when your Co-Admission application is received.) Include the following items with your WSU freshman application:
    • official high school transcript
    • official SAT/ACT scores
    • personal statement
    • $50 application fee

Note: As part of the Co-Admission program, Lower Columbia College will provide your official Lower Columbia transcript to WSU free of charge.

Application Tips

To facilitate the admission procedure collect official transcripts yourself and submit them with the application. Do NOT break the seal on the official transcript envelope.

WSUV will process your application for the semester and year indicated on your application form. If your plans to enroll for that term change, please contact WSU Admissions at 360.546.9779.

You need at least a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.0 and a minimum of 27 semester (40 quarter) college credits. Some programs require a higher cumulative GPA.

Be sure to carefully answer each question and sign your name. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Questions?

Contact WSU Admissions at 360.546.9779.

If you took classes at LCC through Running Start or CHS, follow the Track B Co-Admission procedures, unless you have completed at least 40 quarter college credits after graduating from high school.

Personal Statement

In your personal statement, tell us about yourself and those aspects of your life that are not evident from the other information you are submitting in your admission application. Share your personal experiences: cultural awareness you have gained, personal challenges you have faced, lessons learned and hardships you have overcome.

Format Guidelines for Personal Statement

Spelling, grammar, and punctuation matter!

Type or write your responses on no more than two sheets of 8.5" x11" paper per question. Double-space your lines and use only one side of each sheet. Additional pages will not be accepted.

Print your name, the date, and the words "PERSONAL STATEMENT" with your WSU ID number or Social Security number at the top of each page and attach the pages to your application.

Admission to the University is partly based on an index that combines your high school grade point average and scores on the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT).
