Safety & Security

The Lower Columbia College Safety and Security Department works to keep your learning environment safe and orderly.  Security personnel patrol buildings and parking lots nearly 24-7, responding to fire alarms, security alarms and other emergency and non-emergency situations. You can reach security personnel by calling our special telephone-to-radio line at 360.442.2911.  From a college phone, dial 2-911. LCC works closely with the Longview Police and Fire departments and other local law enforcement agencies.

If special assistance is required, or if a crime is committed, we call local agencies immediately.

For serious injuries or medical emergencies, call 911 Emergency by dialing 9-911 from a college phone or 911 from a pay phone.

Mission Statement:

The primary mission of the LCC Department of Safety and Security is to serve the campus community by providing security services to create a safe environment on campus that enhances the learning experience. We are dedicated to excellent service through partnership that reduces crime, builds trust, and enhances the quality of life in our academic community.

As professionals, our goal is to promote a safe and welcoming environment that recognizes, understands and respects diversity while improving the quality of campus life for students, faculty and staff. The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for providing security; responding to emergencies, fire and security alarms; assisting with traffic accidents; enforcement of campus rules and regulations; and various other services. We are accountable and responsive to the campus community we serve and believe that the strength of our department lies within our security officers.
