On June 6 at around 3:15 pm a 17 year-old female Running Start student was leaving the Student Center on her way to her vehicle in parking lot C (15th Ave.). She happened by a white male sitting on an outside bench who stood up and following her out to the parking lot. The female said this subject literally walked within a few feet of her as she approached her 4-door black 1998 Honda Civic. The female said the subject placed his shaking hand out to her (did not make contact with her) when she got to her car. She yelled 'No' at him and quickly opened, entered and locked her driver's door. The subject tried to open her driver's door and then went around to her passenger door to try to open it (all doors were locked). As she backed out the subject tried to open the back passenger door. As she started driving off the subject started pounding on her windows with his fist while chasing after her. The female said as she left the subject behind in the parking lot, it appeared like he was pulling something black (unknown what) out of his waist band. The female then went to the Safeway parking lot on 15th Ave. to call the police. LCC Security along with police searched the campus and the subject was not located. There were no witnesses.

The female described the subject as being a white male possibly in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, 250 lbs., clean shaven, very round face, very short possibly blondish hair, wearing somewhat thick plain lens glasses, white t-shirt, red baseball hat and shorts.

If you have any information please contact LCC Security at 360-442-2911. The Longview Police case number is L11-13628.

Alcoholic Energy Drinks
Investigators have linked alcoholic "energy" drinks to the alcohol poisoning that hospitalized nine college students after a party in Roslyn, Wash., on Oct. 9. The investigation also concluded that no students were given drugs or alcohol without their knowledge and that no sexual assault occurred.

As a result of the investigation, Central Washington University (CWU) announced today that alcoholic energy drinks (AED) would be banned at CWU pending a thorough review of drug and alcohol policies and a study of the dangers associated with caffeinated malt liquor.

Jeanne Clery Campus Security Act
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, commonly referred to as the Clery Act, requires higher education institutions to collect, report and disseminate crime data to the campus community and U.S. Department of Education; to provide timely warnings of reported crimes that represent a threat to the safety of students or employees; and to make public their campus security policies. In compliance with this legislation, Lower Columbia College disseminates safety alerts to faculty, staff students and the community, produces an annual crime report, and maintains a log of reported criminal incidents.
